PROFILE

Artist Statement
When I attended John Sexton's workshop in 2003, I was struck by the creativity of the West Coast photographers. The idea that a photograph is not a copy of its subject, but an expression of the emotion received from it, and the way they used various techniques to achieve this was very inspiring.
Urban landscapes and buildings are my main subjects. This is because discovering the beauty hidden in the most ordinary of things is my pleasure.
I am currently using the digital negative technique, in which negatives are made with an inkjet printer and printed on photographic paper. This is an excellent technique that expands the range of expression of gelatin silver prints.
